Re-Index All Files
     The re-index all files routine is used in case where a power failure would have damaged the database indexes. If you are using the Extended System's Advantage Database Server, you will almost never have to use this maintenance routine. The Advantage Server is very efficient in protecting your data from being lost or damaged. Your server MUST have a battery UPS (uninterrupted power supply) to protect against power failures, and without Advantage Database Server if your workstation do not have a UPS and a power failure happens in the middle of a transaction, the database integrity can be broken. With Advantage Database Server, your database are protected against this kind of failure and also protects your data in being more secure in regard of network access.

     If you need to use this routine and re-index your files, you must make sure that no user is using FertiSoft in your system and that you are the only user logged in FertiSoft. You also need to have supervisory rights to have access to this menu option (See User Maintenance)

     Now, to activate the routine, click on the "System" drop-down menu and select the "Re Index all files" option.
 

     Then the process will start and, if you are using Advantage Database Server, will run on the server at a very high speed. If you don't have Advantage, it is run on your workstation and is limited in the speed of your processor and your network connection. Make sure that you do not interrupt this routine or your indexes will be corrupted. The following progress window will appear with every database indexed:
